The Group discusses cooperation with Ministry of Agriculture of South Sudan to develop the capabilities and livelihoods of South Sudanese farm communities.
CTC Group had the honour of welcoming Her Excellency Mrs. Josephine Lagu, the Minister of Agriculture, Republic of South Sudan, to tour the complex and discuss the leading role the Group continues to play in developing the agricultural sector.
The meeting explored areas of cooperation between CTC Group and the Ministry, particularly in capacity-building programs aimed at developing the capabilities and livelihoods of South Sudanese farmers. The Minister and the accompanying delegation were received by the Group President, Ahmed Abdelatif, along with members of CTC Group top management.
The delegation was given a tour of the Complex – our flagship Technology Transfer Centre – as well as the CTC Academy where they were introduced to the cutting-edge training and simulation tools used to develop the operators of agriculture machinery to improve productivity and yield. The Minister expressed her admiration while trialling the New Holland Simulator, lauding the tremendous effort by the Group to lead the mechanization of agriculture in Sudan.
CTC Group was extended a generous invitation to visit South Sudan to study the sector, engage with farming communities, and to develop a proposal for establishing a Technology Transfer Centre to facilitate the adoption of the latest agro-technologies. We this opportunity to expand its reach and positive impact, and to work closely with the Ministry in achieving transformational, sustainable change to the agricultural sector in the Republic of South Sudan.
