The Ambassador stressed on the potential of the agricultural sector in Sudan
We were honoured to receive Ambassador Kip Tom, the United States Permanent Representative to the United Nations Agencies for FAO in Rome and an agribusiness leader. During his tour of the CTC Group Complex, our flagship Agro Technology Transfer Centre, Ambassador Tom was able to experience firsthand a wide range of technologies that are helping Sudanese farmers improve their productivity and yield. The visiting delegation also had the chance to engage in an active dialogue with representatives of the farming community, commodity traders and processors, as well as experts in the livestock sector.
The Ambassador stressed on the potential of the agricultural sector in Sudan having paid visits to successful large-scale projects such as NADEC in North Kordofan, and the leading role in which the private sector can play in accelerating the transfer and adoption of agro technologies into Sudan. The importance of capacity-building, technical support and regional presence was also emphasized during the visit as the delegation toured the CTC Academy and CNH Training Centre and interacted with some of the learning tools available within the facility such as the New Holland Precision Farming Simulator and E-Learning Library.
